We've had great time in Santa Barbara. It was a bit of a trek to drive to after Sequoia but I had wanted to include Santa Barbara in the trip and luckily Hazel has loved it.
With no real plans after breakfast at the motel we strolled along the beach from East Beach, along West Beach to Butterfly Beach.
Having a quick dip in the Pacific.
After enjoying our stroll we had lunch on State Street, Santa Barbara's Main Street.
We then returned to the beach but watched a double decker Amtrak train pass through the town constantly sounding it's horn (a great sound). We found it strange that the railway was not fenced off as it would be in the UK. The shortest route from our motel to State Street was to walk across the railway at the station, it did feel unnerving crossing the tracks.
It was time then to spend a few hours relaxing on the beach which as you can see was now much busier.
It's been a late night (nearly 11pm) after a very nice Italian we found a bar with live music.
Happy Birthday to Kasey, hope you have a great day lots of love xx
