Sequoia National Park.

We had a lazy morning and a walk down Tehachapi Main Street. Tehachapi is known for the Tehachapi Loop where a loop in the railway track to gain elevation means any freight train over 1,200 meters long passes over itself. We saw a train going round the loop on our way there but waited a while for another but no more came. Apparently the train service had been disrupted with the mud slide that closed the road for us yesterday as the the railway runs through the same pass as the Interstate.
By all accounts we had been lucky with the mud slide as 200 vehicles had been caught in it. Some people needed to be rescued by helicopter. The night before we arrived in Tehachapi many people had been stranded there due to mud slides blocking most roads.
We left Tehachapi and made our way to Sequoia National Park passing through very scenic farming areas but also very dry areas due to the drought in California.
Now we are back in a National Park the Internet is very poor and just no hope of me uploading any photos.

As if by magic some photos just uploaded.

Big trains in Tehachapi.

Big trees in Sequoia.
