Panorama and Mist Trails.

This morning we took the 08:30am bus to Glacier Point. Good job we had pre-booked as the bus was full. The journey from Yosemite Valley took just over 1 hour and the driver provided a very interesting commentary all the way.  We spent about 30 minutes at Glacier Point at just over 7200ft. The views, can't try to describe them, just incredible. We then started the Panorama Trail and the views were just constant. I'd been looking forward to this trail for months but was hoping for a fine day, it was ideal, dry and warm in the 70's F. (Sorry for writing so much but I'm waiting for a photo to upload, 1 hour and 50% there). As we hiked our way down (with a fairly significant uphill stretch) we eventually joined the Mist Trail. We decended at the side of Nevada Falls (I did a video stood on the edge behind railing but my legs still went weak looking at the drop) then we took a narrow walkway adjacent Vernal Falls. We arrived at Happy Islands in the valley (4000ft) at 5pm and caught the shuttle back to Yosemite Lodge. It has to be the best walk/ hike we've ever done but neither of us could walk without a grimace back to our room. I'd do it again tomorrow, what pitty the bus is fully booked!

  1. Wow! We couldn't do much hiking when we did our trip to the US as the kids were quite young..seeing these pics has certainly given me a yearning to revisit Yosemite!

    1. It was quite an experience that I'll never forget. You should go again and hike the trails you were unable to last time.
