Another glorious day in Yosemite.

We had a bit of a lazy start today. Clear blue sky again so we had a gentle walk in one of the valley meadows.

Yosemite Valley and Merced River

El Capitan Rock. Vehicles parked at the bottom look miniature against the rock.

Tunnel View again.

We then headed towards Glacier Point, the start of yesterday's Panorama Trail. Because it was such a clear day we decided that the views from Sentinal Dome would be worth the hike. It certainly was worth the effort even if still a little stiff from yesterday. Thanks to Jamie for the recommendation.

We then returned to the trail head and took the trail to The Fissures and Taft Point. The Fissures are cracks in the rock 3000ft above the valley floor, no railing and big cracks you could easy fall down. Then to Taft Point at an altitude of 7503ft, you can stand on the edge and look over (I tried it but legs turned to jelly) or stand behind a small section of railings if nervous!!! As if that wasn't spectacular enough some guys had just set up a tight rope adjacent Taft Point, the vertical fall below the tightrope being 3000ft. As the first guy slid out on the tightrope he commented that he probably had the best seat and best view. It was great watching them, especially when they fell from the rope and dangled from a safety strap held by one carabiner, it was very tense!

Approaching Taft Point we could see people stood on the point looking down in to the valley.

Setting up the tight rope then stepping out (well sliding out gently).

Among the wildlife.

    1. That many photos it's difficult deciding on which to add to blog. When I get time (it's been a bit full on) I'll add some Yosemite photos and let you know.
