Heading South.
After a 3 nights stay we left Wuksachi Lodge in Sequoia National Park with the sun shining but a chilly 42F (6C). We drove a few miles to Moro Rock which we had visited yesterday but with low clouds there had been no chance of a view so we took a gamble and waited until this morning to climb the 400 steps to the top. We had great views of the high Sierras and canyons. Quite a climb at 7000ft, left us breathless.
We then set of on the 5 hour drive south with a quick stop and photo of an impressive recovery truck.
We arrived in Santa Barbara, at the lovely Marina Beach Motel. The temperature was a very nice 82F (28C). We just had enough time for a walk on the Beach and Sterns Wharf then watch the sunset. We then had fish & chips for tea :-)

Watched a program last night... You're guaranteed to be eaten by a great white if you go swimming off Santa Barbara in October. Looks lovely though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that tip Mike. I'd just got, put me Speedos on and was ready for a quick dip ;-)
DeleteI spotted Hazel. What's my prize?
ReplyDeleteHad a nice meal at Sandbar, on State St. when I was there a couple of years ago.
Your prize is that you can watch the video of our trip!
DeleteWe will look out for the Sanbar as we head up State Street today, cheers.
Italian we ate at was almost next door to the Sandbar. It looked very busy but we were in the mood for Italian. Will have to try it out next time we ere in Santa Barbara :-)
